Liquid Sodium Chlorite
Liquid sodium chlorite Solution is light green-yellow solution. Under normal conditions, Sodium Chlorite Liquid solution is stable. But it should be kept away from acid and other reducible chemicals to avoid danger.
Sodium Chlorite solution is an excellent bleaching agent which could be safely transported & reacted easily to form chlorine dioxide at the bleaching site. The Oxidizing power is greater that that of Hydrogen peroxide & it gives excellent bleaching to a given whiteness which is maintained after resination.
25% 31% Sodium Chlorite Liquid Solution
It is light yellowish solution, slightly absorb moisture, easily soluble in water and alcohol. Sodium chlorite is stable in normal condition, it will release chlorine dioxide when it meets acid. If contact with wood scraps, organic compounds, reducing substances, or if knocked or rubbed, 25% 31% Sodium Chlorite Liquid Solution is easy to explode or burn. So, special attention should be paid to when we handle it. 25% 31% Sodium Chlorite Liquid Solution is utilizedin producing chlorine dioxide, or bleaching textiles, paper, fiber, sand sugar, wax, flour, fruit etc, or certain metal surface treating, drink water and waste water purification etc.

Sodium Chlorite Liquid Solution Spill and Leak Procedures
In the event of a spill or release of Sodium Chlorite Liquid Solution, isolate the spill area and deny entry to unnecessary or unprotected personnel. Remove all sources of ignition, such as flames, hot glowing surfaces or electric arcs. Stop source of spill as soon as possible and notify appropriate personnel. Cleanup personnel must wear proper protective equipment. Notify all downstream water users of possible contamination.
Test Method of Sodium Chlorite Liquid Solution
Draw a sample from the container. Weigh 1 gm of Sodium Chlorite solution from above sample and pour it to conical flask. Dilute it to 500 cc in distill water with ringing the sample weighing container.
Now, take 25cc from above solution in a conical flask and add 10cc of 10% KI solution + 5 cc of 5% H2SO4 solution. The result is greenish yellow color obtained. Put this flask immediately under the dark for 5 minutes. Now, titrate liberated iodine against 0.1 N standardized Sodium Thiosulphate solution till the bulk becomes colorless.
Note down the reading of Thio added from the burette. Now calculate the percentage as under : % Sodium chlorite by wt = Burette reading X 4.52
Interpretation:
The test method measures the amount of iodine released during the reaction of sodium chlorite with KI and H2SO4. By titrating the liberated iodine with Sodium Thiosulphate solution, the amount of sodium chlorite in the original sample can be determined.
Please note that this test method is provided for informational purposes only and should be performed by qualified personnel following proper safety precautions and under appropriate laboratory conditions. Additionally, the actual calculation factors and units may vary based on the specific test setup and calibration standards.
Safety Considerations
Liquid sodium chlorite is a strong oxidizing agent and should be handled with care. Direct contact with organic materials or combustible substances should be avoided.
Proper protective equipment, such as gloves and goggles, should be worn when handling the solution.
Dilution should be carried out carefully with appropriate mixing to ensure uniform distribution.
It is crucial to follow recommended safety guidelines and regulations when using liquid sodium chlorite to ensure safe and effective application in various industries.
