Product Usage
Methyl Octabromoether (RX-972) is the main product of the deep processing of tetrabromobisphenol A, with better flame retardant effect. It is an additive flame retardant, mainly used for EPS and XPS boards, and is an excellent alternative to the discontinued flame retardant hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD).

Product Performance

Methyl Octabromoether (RX-972) is an additive flame retardant which has the characteristics of low dosage, good flame retardancy and little influence on the physical properties of materials, mainly used in EPS and XPS, which can show its excellent performance to the utmost. It is white crystalline powder in appearance, soluble in organic solvents such as acetone and esters, and has good stability to heat and UV light. It has a higher flame retardant effect than brominated aromatic flame retardants and has excellent thermal stability, making it safer for processing equipment and better for the performance of products, especially for plastic products processed at higher temperatures.
